Updated version of the nomination "The Putorana Plateau" submitted to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre

The nomination of the "The Putorana Plateau" (Putoransky State Nature Reserve) has been submitted to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre after the documents were corrected to meet the requirements set out in the Decision of the 32nd session of the World Heritage Committee 32 COM 8B.13.

The nomination of the "The Putorana Plateau" was submitted to the World Heritage Centre for the first time in January 2007. Following the recommendations of the advisory body - The World Conservation Union (IUCN), the 32nd session of the World Heritage Committee passed the decision to defer the nomination, so that some amendments were made by the State-Party (document 32 COM 8B.13). The decision suggested that a management plan for the Putoransky State Nature Reserve be developed and implemented, a new comparative analysis be prepared and clear guarantees of the commitment to ensure the preservation and integrity of the nominated property in future are provided. The new version of the "The Putorana Plateau" nomination meets all the mentioned requirements.

According to the regulations of the nomination consideration, the documents submitted in 2009 will be reviewed at The World Conservation Union (IUCN), and its new recommendations will be presented at the regular session of the World Heritage Committee in 2010 to make the decision concerning "The Putorana Plateau" nomination.

"The Putorana Plateau" nomination was prepared in 2000-2006, within the framework of the German-Russian intergovernmental agreement on collaboration in the sphere of environmental protection. The work was coordinated by the Natural Heritage Protection Fund. The Dresden University of Technology assisted the Russian scientists from the Putorana Reserve, the Institute of Geography RAS and the Russian Research Institute for Cultural and Natural Heritage named after D. S. Likhachev to prepare the nomination.
