Decisions on Russian natural properties have been adopted at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee in Phnom Penh

Today, the evening meeting of the World Heritage Committee held within the framework of its 37th session in Phnom Penh followed up with adoption of decisions on the state of conservation related to five Russian natural properties.

Decisions on three properties — Lake Baikal, Golden Mountains of Altai and Volcanoes of Kamchatka — were adopted without any debate (in draft decision on Volcanoes of Kamchatka only the date of submitting the next report was changed to 1 February 2015). Decisions on Western Caucasus and Virgin Komi Forests properties were adopted after lengthy discussions with regard to additional arguments provided by the official delegation of Russia. The final revision of abovementioned decisions will be available after 26 June 2013.
