Two booklets from the series "Russian Natural World Heritage Properties" have been published

Booklets "The Virgin Komi Forests" - Russia's first Natural World Heritage Property" and "Golden Mountains of Altai - the World Heritage Property" have been published by the Natural Heritage Protection Fund in consort with the Institute of Geography of the RAS, Pechoro-Ilichsky and Katun Reserves, Yugyd Va National Park.

Published booklets continue Fund's publishing project concerning existing and potential Russia's World Natural Heritage Properties including the properties already inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List / UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List and promising candidates for the inscription as World Heritage Properties.

The present booklets contains first published materials from the "Virgin Komi Forests" and the "Golden Mountains of Altai" nominations dossier; World Heritage Certificates and the Decisions by the World Heritage Committee on the inscription of the properties on the World Heritage List; some abstracts from the Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention concerning advantages and obligations under the status of World Heritage; up-to-date information over territories. Also included in the Altai booklet is the Development and Management Strategy for the Golden Mountains of Altai World Heritage Property - a forward-looking document based on an analysis of the state of conservation, management process and functioning problems of the parts of the property, prepared by State Nature Biosphere Reserve "Katunsky" involving Altaisky State Nature Reserve and Natural Heritage Protection Fund.

The booklet "The Volga Delta - a potential World Heritage Site" have been published in 2008, the booklet "Volcanoes of Kamchatka" dealing with the World Heritage territory will be published by the end of this year. 16-20 booklets are to be published in total.
