"The Magadansky Reserve" nomination and "The Bikin River Valley" Tentative List submission successfully passed through interdepartmental harmonization of documents

"The Magadansky Reserve" nomination and "The Bikin River Valley" Tentative List submission passed through procedure of interdepartmental harmonization of documents, which was established in January of present year, and going before the submission of documents to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

Nomination and Tentative List submission, which were conformed with the RF subdivisions (the Magadan Region and the Primorsky Kray) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology, were submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation and to the Ministry of Regional Development. This procedure was applied for the first time to evaluate the benefits and impairments, which would be the result of the inscription on the World Heritage List.

Due to detailed study of documents, named government institutions approved "The Magadansky Reserve" and "The Bikin River Valley" documents for its nomination for the World Heritage status. "The Bikin River Valley" Tentative List submission would be submitted to the World Heritage Centre during May 2010 by the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO. A priority issue of "The Magadansky Reserve" and "The Lena Pillars" nomination submission is under consideration presently.
