UNESCO recognized Sinsky Pillars (Yakutia) as the property of Outstanding Universal Value

During its 39th session, the World Heritage Committee adopted a decision on minor boundary modification of Lena Pillars property at the expense of the section of the Sinyaya River basin, considerable in terms of area (115,000 ha).

Sinsky Pillars area contributed greatly to the outstanding universal value of the property, notably by both of its key components: Cambrian period deposits and ground frost karst. Thus, Yakutia contribution into the joint “humankind`s bank of nature” increased to 1,387,000 ha.
