The results of the 42th session of the World Heritage Committee

13 cultural, 3 natural and 3 mixed properties have been inscribed on the List, one site was significantly expanded in the course of the 42nd session of the World Heritage Committee. Thus, as a result of the session, the List contains 1092 properties: 845 cultural, 209 natural and 38 mixed ones. 

New natural and mixed properties inscribed on the List during the 42th session of the World Heritage Committee: 

MIXED SITES

Canada: Pimachiowin Aki

Colombia: Chiribiquete National Park – “The Maloca of the Jaguar”

Mexico: Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Valley: originary habitat of Mesoamerica

NATURAL SITES

South Africa: Barberton Makhonjwa Mountains

China: Fanjingshan

Russian Federation: Bikin River Valley [extension of “Central Sikhote-Alin”]

France: Chaine des Puys - Limagne fault tectonic arena

In the course of the session, the Committee’s decisions on six Russian natural sites — Virgin Komi Forests, Lake Baikal, Volcanoes of Kamchatka, Wrangel Island, Western Caucasus and Golden Mountains of Altai — have been approved without discussion.
