The booklet contains the materials related to the serial transnational Russian–Mongolian nomination The Landscapes of Dauria developed by the Natural Heritage Protection Fund and forwarded to the World Heritage Center in January 2014.

At the 38th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Doha, they adopted decisions on the state of conservation of four Russian natural properties, namely: Lake Baikal, Western Caucasus, Virgin Komi Forests and Curonian Spit.

On April 4, the meeting of the Council involving CIS Ministers of Foreign Affairs was held in Moscow, as a result of which an agreement has been reached that Likhachev Russian Research Institute for Cultural and Natural Heritage earns the status of the base organization for the member states of the CIS in the field of World Heritage conservation. Therefore, within the framework of the CIS, a uniform coordinating structure in the field of World Cultural and Natural Heritage conservation has been created.

According to the Operational Guidelines, during February, experts from the World Heritage Centre have checked nominations which were submitted till February 1 for completeness. As a result of such evaluation, a transnational Russian and Mongolian nomination The Landscapes of Dauria has been found complete and will be submitted for examination by the World Heritage Committee at its 39th session in summer 2015.

A new nomination The Virgin Komi Forests (significant modification of boundaries with regard to the property already on the List) has been found incomplete and can be filed again till February 1 ,2015 after the faults noted in the comments by the World Heritage Centre have been eliminated. 

"The Virgin Komi Forests", being the only nomination of the Russian Federation (significant modification of boundaries with regard to the property already on the List), has been submitted to the World Heritage Centre by February 1, 2014 (deadline by which complete nominations must be received each year).The new "Western Caucasus" nomination was not approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and not submitted to the World Heritage Centre.
