The World Heritage Committee has inscribed a total of 25 sites on UNESCO's World Heritage List, including three natural properties, 21 cultural and one mixed site. Two properties were added to the World Heritage List in Danger and one was removed from that list. The World Heritage List now numbers 936 properties: 183 natural sites; 725 cultural; and 28 mixed.

Published booklet continues Natural Heritage Protection Fund's publishing project concerning existing and potential Russia's World Natural Heritage Properties including the properties already inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List / UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List and promising candidates for the inscription as World Heritage Properties.

Natural Heritage Protection Fund finalized all necessary agreements of the "Lena Pillars Nature Park" nomination in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation during January, 2011, and today nomination dossier was submitted to the World Heritage Centre.

New version of "Lena Pillars Nature Park" nomination dossier and "Bikin River Valley" nomination dossier (extension to "Central Sikhote-Alin" World Heritage property) were submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation today.

The Russian Tentative List was enlarged with the "Bikin River Valley" natural property on the 19 of November. Natural complex "Bikin River Valley", more than 1 million hectares in total, includes a landscape reserve "Verhnebikinsky" and the territory of traditional land use of the indigenous people of the north of the Primorsky Kray.

The 34th session of the World Heritage Committee meeting in Brasilia since 25 July finished its consideration of nominations for the World Heritage List and the List of World Heritage in Danger.

Meeting under the Chairmanship of the Minister of Culture of Brazil, Joao Luiz da Silva Ferreira, the Committee inscribed 21 new sites, including 15 cultural, 5 natural and 1 mixed properties.

On the 8th day of proceedings of the 34th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which take place in Brasilia, the Russian natural property "Putorana Plateau" was inscribed on the World Heritage List. "Putorana Plateau" (the territory within the boundaries of the State Natural Reserve "Putoransky") became the 9th Russian natural property on the List and the first Russian property since 2004.
